1. The Ridden Heavy Horse Society has been set up to encourage greater understanding and improvement of the Ridden Heavy Horse and bring classes and judging into line with other recognised and respected ridden show organisations.


  1. To encourage more shows to recognise the increase in popularity of the ridden heavy horse and provide separate purebred classes for them.


  1. To standardise judging rules, marking sheets and guidelines including turnout guidelines for horse and rider.


  1. Ensure judges have a greater understanding of the unique nature, correct conformation, way of going and character of the individual breeds ridden heavy horse.


  1. Issue a ridden judges list supported by annual judges conferences, judge assessment and rider training days to ensure judge familiarity with ridden heavy horse rules and criteria.

 

  1. Encourage a higher standard of presentation and schooling of ridden heavy horses.


  1. To promote the use of the ridden heavy horse alongside all its other established draft uses.


  1. Present annual awards for both ridden heavy show horses and enthusiasts who regularly support the breed at events throughout the year.
